This is the third entry of the Sarah’s Secret Diary archive.
Election day. I had already been down to the polling station to cast my vote. I’ve never been to an election count before, so later I went to my local town hall.
When I got there, food and drink was being served, mainly for the journalists and reports, but I managed to swipe a few bits off the table.
It was around 11.30pm, but as there was no result yet, I had a few drinks while I was waiting. Another hour later, no result, and now I needed to go to the loo. I pressed my legs together and tried to focus on what was going on around me. I also then started to fidget a little. A kind old lady saw my predicament and asked me if I wanted to use the toilet. Foolishly, I told her that I did not…. I thought to myself, what a stupid thing to say.
Half an hour later, still no result, and by now, I was becoming very desperate. more people were coming into the town hall to see whose candidate had won (In this case, I didn’t vote for the winner). Soon, the main hall was becoming crowded with people. I wanted to pee badly now, but I didn’t want to miss the result. I was getting frantic, fidgeting wildly and curtsying.
Later, loud cheers from the crowd as the candidates stood before us, one by one. I wasn’t even interested in the result as I just wanted to relieve myself. I made my way out of the main hall to try and look for the loos… no such luck… I knew where this place was, but not it’s insides. I was walking down many corridors and up and down flights of stairs trying to find them. I was clutching myself so tightly, gripping with all my willpower can give me.
Suddenly, I got startled as the crowd cheered loudly, and pee started to spurt into my knickers. I tried in a desperate bid to halt the flow, but it was too late. I was wearing jeans as the pee soaked them as I helplessly stood there.
After I finished, I made my way out of the town hall to walk the short distance to my flat. The main obstacle to getting to my room is my boyfriend John, who was watching the whole election unfold in the television. I wished I had done the same.
